CONFLICT RESOLUTION
We at Torrance Youth Football and Cheer believe that the key to resolving conflicts between parents/guardians, coaches and players is communication. Below is a guide to the steps we suggest you take if you are faced with a situation where you feel someone else at the league may adversely affect your child or another party.
If possible, talk to the person or people directly. Most conflicts may be resolved by simply discussing an issue directly.
Talk to your team manager for direction if you do not feel comfortable talking with the individual .
Go to the Football Athletic Director or Cheer Athletic Director, if the issue is with your team manager or you do not feel comfortable talking with them you may .
If you do not feel comfortable talking with the Athletic Director, contact the Football VP or Cheer VP.
If you do not feel comfortable talking with the VP you may contact the league president directly.
Submit a Code of Conduct Incident form for severe issues such as physical altercations, verbal abuse, profanity or any case where you feel an Executive Board review is necessary.
Torrance Youth Football and Cheer takes safety and physical and mental well-being of all participants in our League Sports Activities is of the utmost concern. Making our league one where our kids play and practice in a safe, supported environment is of the utmost concern. The Executive Board of Directors evaluates all reported incidents of alleged Code of Conduct violations to determine appropriate actions to be taken.
A signed Code of Conduct Incident Reporting Form must be submitted in good faith to [email protected], and may be filed by any board member, head coach, referee, volunteer, parent, or event participant.
Incident Evaluation Procedure:
Upon receipt of a signed Code of Conduct Incident Reporting form, the Executive Board of Directors conducts a review to determine if an investigation is warranted and/or if the involvement of law enforcement and/or outside agencies is required. Complaints and investigations remain confidential to the extent possible. Investigations involve gathering evidence related to the matter, including interviews with the parties involved in the incident(s). Results of an investigation are reviewed by the Executive Board reasonable and appropriate corrective actions are decided upon based on a 2/3 vote. All decisions by the Board of Directors at the conclusion of an investigation are final. There is no appeal.
